The Muslim Ladies Study Circle is a social service organization which has served the community for 40 years. We are a registered Non Governmental Organization Registration No. FL-107604, Registered with Department of Muslim Religious & Cultural Affairs (Reg. No: MRCA/6/CO/42), Registered with Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission (TVEC Reg. No: P01/0338) and we are also enacted in Parliament No. 31 of 1982.

Our organization has for the last several years concentrated on surveys and studies of women issues, providing scholarships for poor university students, counseling, helping in national crisis with food and clothing for the victims and family education. During the past few years our organization concentrated on housing for poor and needy. We have successfully completed 201 low cost houses for the displaced families during the ethnic wars, widows and poor and needy. We were very heavily involved in tsunami relief work in Galle and the Eastern Province.

Our vision is to give the women skills so that they could begin work and gain economic independence, confidence and take their place in society as they are the ones who carried the major burden of sustaining a family. In order to set up these women to be self supportive and be on their feet. The Muslim Ladies Study Circle with our knowledge and expertise in this field started a Vocational Training Centre in Colombo in 2005 for all communities for different vocations such as Dress making, machine embroidery, Hand Embroidery, Ribbon & Brazilian Embroidery, Cookery, Cake Icing, Curtain course, Paper Toll, Beauty Culture, Cake Structure, Thajweed, Computer & English etc.,

Alhamdulillah, we have inaugurated Vocational Training Centres in Kahatovita, Warakapola, Panadura & Galle. They are now functioning very successfully.
